The plastic used is high quality and doesn't degrade the water at all. The filter is excellently made and generates quite the powerful subtle energy field as water flows through it, greatly improving the waters quality. Especially energetically. It's been excellent to have for the final stage to my whole home water system for high quality drinking water.
